According to reports in the Bosnian press, Liverpool assistant manager is set to be named new Arsenal manager at the end of the season.
Zelkjo Buvac has taken an official “leave of absence” from the Anfield club for “personal reasons”. There was some speculation that the coach had fallen out with Klopp in training.
However, according to Pravda BL, the deal to take Buvac to the Emirates as a new Head Coach has already been agreed.
The statement from Liverpool FC stated that Buvac’s absence from the club wouldn’t affect his long-term employment at the club. However, the Bosnian may have been asked to step back in order to allow Klopp and his other coaches to concentrate on Liverpool’s push for the Champions’ League trophy.
While a lot of UK journalists are pouring scorn on this news, it’s worth nothing that Pravda BL was the publication that first broke the news of Klopp and Buvac’s arrival at Anfield in 2015.
The Liverpool boss and Buvac have worked together for three decades, since their playing days at Mainz in Germany. They both worked together at Borussia Dortmund before moving to Merseyside.
If this happens, it will be one of the biggest surprises of the season.
